Minutes of the General Meeting held on Monday June 9th, 2014


The meeting was called to order at approx. 8:05 p.m. - on-line Moderator/Chair. – President: Dave Gilmour

Dave: Thanks everyone. I assume everyone has had a chance to read last month's minutes. Are there any errors or omissions?

Business Arising From the Minutes – None
Treasurer’s Report – Kim Long (Kim could not get in but sent her report to Mary)

  • June 9, 2014-06-09

    • New Bank Account is still in progress but the end if looking near.

    • March 27/2014 Received Cheque for $18.00 from Bev Pope for an extra Championship Plaque

    • April 17/2014 – $105.95 for Prepaid Visa owed to Mary Curl for supplies until bank account is finalized

    • April 23/2014 – Staples /Black Ink 35.01 paid for with prepaid Visa

    • Mary: Add to the prepaid visa the charge for the voting site - $19.95, April 19, 2014

    • May 7/2014 – Received cheque for membership from Andrea Calverley

    • May 15/2014 – Received invoice from Bernie Langley for Gifts for Judges BCC National Specialty - $146.90

    • June 4/2014 – Email to Pierry to check on status of Royal Canin sponsorship for Chilliwack Payment.  Pierry is checking into this and at this time I have not heard back.

  • Mary: Also the invoices for the last two specialties have been sent to Royal Canin and the funds will be sent out as soon as the new account is fully open

  • Lillian: I presume the audit found everything OK

  • Christine: The audit is still underway

  • Mary: Mary Dulong emailed me today saying that she found more paperwork that she is sending to Kim.  I don't know if it is relevant to the audit but Kim can inform you when she gets it

  • Christine: Could be the paperwork we are looking for.  I wish she had of contracted Mike

  • Paul W: What was bought for the judges that cost 146.90?

  • Bernice: I purchased the judges gifts for the Regional,  I purchase two Univit carvings,   one is slightly  higher than the other .  Beautiful carvings.  These judges get paid nothing for judging;, so I feel they can have a nice gift.  I have given them Canadian carvings for years.

Show Committee 

  • Anne: trophies seemed to be well received, they were figures donated by Nancy Stantial's family so made good use of them

  • Lillian: have we any left? Wonder if anyone else has figurines they would donate

  • Patti: there is nothing new this month

  • Mary: Mike will be mailing all the plaques and awards out to members

    • Lillian has received her certificate

  • Lillian: the certificate from Mary is very nicely done. Classier the CKC ones

    • Mary: Thank  you Lillian.

  • Mary: Note to all members - If you want a certificate instead of a plaque next year you may ask for same

  Fundraising: Patti – No report  

Nomination Committee:
Dave: Nomination committee will be dealt with at the AGM

Reading of General Correspondence:  Cindy Thomas

  • Mary: Cindy can`t get in but says she has no report

Special Service Committee: Deb Allardyce – (not in attendance) No report

Good & Welfare: Lillian No Report

  • Anne: does anyone know how betty Rouse is feeling

  • Bernice: I'll answer re Betty, She is doing as well as possible.  She keeps herself busy.  Strong lady.

  • Dave: Please pass on the club's well wishes when you are talking to her.

Old Business:  

  • Mary: After a small mix up I contacted RC regarding prizes and product for the Specialty and they arranged for it to be picked up.  Thanks Mike for doing that for us.

  • Approved - application from Monika Pinsker to host a BCC Regional Specialty Show, Puppy & Veteran Sweepstakes, Parade of Champions & Combined Obedience/Rally Obedience Trial on April 5, 2015, in conjunction with the Renaissance Dog Association All Breed Shows.

  • Approved - application from Barry Green to host a BCC Regional Specialty & Sweepstakes on November 8, 2014, in conjunction with the United Kennel Club All Breed Shows.
